Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures

Review the campus traffic map and follow these procedures to help keep arrival and dismissal safe, orderly, and efficient.

Review the map before arriving and follow the designated entrance, lane, loading area, and exit. Staff directions always take priority.

Be Prepared, Patient, and Alert

Be Prepared

Have students, backpacks, and dismissal tags ready before entering the loading area.

Be Patient

Stay in line, avoid passing, and follow staff directions the first time.

Be Alert

Put phones away, reduce speed, watch crosswalks, and be ready to stop.

Keep the Line Safe and Moving

Before and While in Line

  • Approach campus using the route shown on the map.
  • Do not cut, pass, create a second lane, or block driveways.
  • Keep crosswalks, intersections, and fire lanes clear.
  • Remain in your vehicle unless staff direct you to park.
  • Keep music low and avoid honking or confrontations.

Loading and Unloading

  • Stop only in the designated loading area.
  • Wait for staff before opening doors.
  • Students should use the passenger side whenever possible.
  • Never allow students to walk between moving vehicles.
  • Park for lengthy conversations or campus business.

Afternoon Pick-Up

  • Display the correct dismissal tag clearly.
  • Pull forward as directed.
  • Do not call students out of the supervised area.
  • If your student is not ready, follow staff instructions.
  • Students are released only through approved procedures.

Walking and Biking

  • Use sidewalks and marked crosswalks.
  • Cross only when directed by staff or a crossing guard.
  • Do not walk or ride between vehicles.
  • Walk bikes and scooters through crowded areas.
  • Stay off phones while crossing streets.

School-Zone Safety

  • Obey posted speed limits, signs, signals, and staff directions.
  • Put handheld devices away while driving or moving through the line.
  • Yield to students, pedestrians, crossing guards, and cyclists.
  • Do not make unsafe U-turns, drive against traffic, or double-park.
  • Keep children properly restrained until reaching the loading area.
  • Never leave a child unattended in a vehicle.

Respect Staff, Families, and Neighbors

Keep neighborhood driveways, sidewalks, and intersections open. 

Procedures may change temporarily because of weather, traffic, construction, or emergencies.
