Enrollment Information

Families who have accepted a spot at Durham Elementary should complete the enrollment process by following the steps below. We are excited to welcome you to the Durham community.
Prepare for Enrollment at Durham
Confirm that Durham is your zoned school or that your student has received an approved School Choice placement, gather the required records, and bring the documents to the campus registrar during business hours.
Check Your Attendance Zone
Use the official HISD School Navigator to determine whether your home address is within the Durham Elementary attendance boundary.
Check Your AddressGather Required Documents
Collect identification, proof of address, academic records, and immunization documentation before visiting the campus.
Visit the Campus Registrar
Bring all required documentation to the Durham Elementary registrar Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Parent or Guardian Identification
Provide one valid form of identification:
- Driver’s license
- Passport
- Military identification
- Another valid government-issued identification document
Student Identification
Provide one form of student identification:
- Birth certificate
- Social Security card
- Passport
- Baptismal record
- Another valid student identification document
Proof of Address
Provide one current document showing the family’s address:
- Current rental lease
- Current mortgage statement
- Electricity, gas, or water bill
Proof of Grade Placement
Provide available records showing the student’s prior grade placement:
- Prior academic records
- Final report card or report cards
- Final transcript or other official school records
Immunization Records
Provide an official record of the student’s vaccinations:
- Records from a physician or healthcare provider
- Official vaccination record
- Review HISD student health and immunization requirements
School Choice Placements
If your student received a Durham placement through the HISD School Choice process, you may submit the requested enrollment information through the HISD School Choice website or bring the documents to the school registrar in person.
