Durham Elementary’s Parent Teacher Organization helps strengthen the partnership between families, educators, and school staff while supporting student learning, enrichment, and school-community engagement.

Supporting Students Through Family Partnership
Parent organizations such as PTOs and PTAs play an important role in supporting Houston ISD’s mission to develop critical thinkers, visionary leaders, and active community contributors. By creating strong partnerships among families, teachers, and school staff, these organizations help provide enriching opportunities that support student growth and success.
Parent organizations also help extend learning beyond the classroom through volunteer service, fundraising, family events, and programs that support academic and enrichment priorities.

All Durham Families Are Welcome
Membership in the Durham Elementary Parent Organization is open to all current Durham Elementary parents and guardians. Families are encouraged to participate at the level that works best for them, whether through membership, volunteering, attending events, or supporting school initiatives.
